AEVC Trade Mission in Algeria

Between July 26th to July 31st, a delegation of the Associação Empresarial de Viana do Castelo (AEVC) went on a trip to Algeria to carry out a trade mission with the main objective of strengthening cooperation between Algeria and the Portuguese region of Viana Do Castelo, particularly in the sectors of metallurgy, construction and energy.

CH’s associate office in Algeria, BH Advisory, led by Naouel Touzene and Miguel Corrais, head of CH Markets, organized the mission and accompanied the AEVC representatives throughout this trade mission to Algeria.

On Sunday, July 28th, AEVC had a meeting with SAFEX, which is the Algerian national company of trade fairs and exports, and with the Bourse Algérienne de Sous Traitance et de Partenariat (BASTP), which is the Algerian Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange Network. On Monday, July 29th, the representatives of AEVC had a meeting with the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), which resulted in the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding. AEVC also met the president of the Algerian Solar Energy Cluster, to discuss the opportunities of win-win partnerships between AEVC and the Cluster.

Finally, on July 30th, the representatives of the AEVC visited the industrial facility of CITAL, in the city of Annaba (eastern Algeria). CITAL is a partnership between the French company Alstom and the Algerian company Ferrovial. It has become a model of integrated industry in northern Africa, which is dedicated to the production and maintenance of tram sets for the Algerian market and complies with international standards.

It should be noted that a reverse mission is planned in the region of Viana Do Castelo in September, with representatives from Algeria, Iran, Morocco and Ghana.
